Litchfield House

• Historically significant (Medford and Massachusetts Historical Commissions' lists).
• Constructed circa 1840 for Atwood Litchfield, Jr. who owned it until 1889.
• Atwood Litchfield, Jr elected Medford Selectman, served during Civil War Period.
• In later years, shared with Atwood Litchfield, Sr., who was born in the 1790's.

Medford

• 1630 — Settlement incorporated (fourth oldest English settlement in North America).
• 1670s — Peter Tufts House, 350 Riverside Ave, built (believed oldest brick house in the country).
• 1775 — Paul Revere rode through town, alerting Medford's Minutemen.
• 1803 to 1873 — a hub of clipper shipbuilding along the Mystic River.
