A familiar landmark, the Litchfield House is an 1840s era Greek revival set beautifully on a 14,535 sq. ft. lot. Because of its unique architecture and age the Litchfield House is on the Massachusetts Historical Commission's inventory of houses.
The Litchfield House was meticulously renovated top to bottom by an accomplished team including house and landscape architects, engineers, and interior designers. We maintained as many original features of the Litchfield House as possible and added all the modern amenities of a first-class residence. The results speak for themselves!
A Massachusetts Historical Commission document dated September 27, 1974 describes the Litchfield House:
". . . Its pedimented street façade, Ionic entry porches and window surrounds seem Greek Revival in origin while its broad matched board pilasters draw heavily on the Regency style related examples of which may be seen in the vicinity of Harvard Square in Cambridge."
